Juan Fernando García

Percussion and flute

Juan Fernando García was born in Colombia. He began his classical music studies at the Antioquia University, Medellín where he also studied dance and traditional music. On his arrival in France in 1986, he continued his studies of modern & baroque transverse flute with Gilles Burgos. He received a diploma from the National School of Music in Evry and has performed regularly in France, Colombia and Brazil.


He frequently performs with various baroque music orchestras, traditional music groups and Latin jazz and is a professor at the association “Les Quatre Horizons” and the Erik Satie Conservatory of Paris. Juan Fernando is often invited by the Brazilian government to give masterclasses at the Pernambucano Music Conservatory in Recife and the Waldemar de Almeida Music Institute in Natal.
